Project Overview
Cremation is becoming increasingly common, yet the experience often feels procedural: families wait, rarely witness the full process, and the “return” of ashes can be emotionally empty.
This project proposes a new crematorium architecture and journey that treats cremation as a continuation of respect and remembrance—not merely the handling of remains.
Grounded in Plato’s tripartite theory (Matter / Soul / Nous), I designed a public-facing “Life Museum” and a private family route, connected by a vertical Ascend Device that symbolizes the soul rising while the person’s story is archived for future generations.
